Having retired in March 2016, I now have the opportunity to live part of the year in sunny Spain. My house is in Tormos, a delightful small community in the Orba Valley, and I am getting to know neighbours and people in the surrounding areas.
I am delighted to have taken on the role as Group Co-ordinator for the Vall Del Pop U3A, and look forward to contributing to the success and efficient operation of the groups, for the benefit of all the members. I have previously been a Town Councillor, sat on many Chamber of Commerce committees and other groups – hence deciding to take on the Group Co-ordinator role.
My background: A dual career, firstly in the travel industry where I operated travel agencies, foreign exchange bureaux, and latterly business travel arrangements for multinational companies. Then, after returning to University, I trained as a Private Client Solicitor and spent the second half of my working life in firms in Bath and the West Country; Specialising in Trust, Taxation, Probate Wills and Power of Attorney work – all of which was extremely rewarding.
Personal life: My aged cat has moved to Spain and seems to enjoy the lifestyle. I am busy landscaping my garden and have plans to extend the house itself in future years. Until I finally move out to Spain fulltime, my life will be a mixture of work in the UK, travel to visit daughter and grandchildren in Australia, and sunshine here in Spain.
