This biopic begins with an interview with Jacqueline Kennedy a week after the assassination of her husband. It presents an intimate portrayal of her complex character highlighting not just her vulnerability in grief but her strength as she experiences the trauma of her loss. The film shifts between moments from the couple’s past and the days following the assassination, as the former First Lady struggles to maintain her husband’s legacy and the world of “Camelot” that they created. Natalie Portman delivers an exceptional performance and was nominated for Best Actress at both BAFTA and Oscars.
