Jan and I have lived in Parcent since 2006. We choose the Jalon Valley because it is well known as a popular walking area.
We walked with a variety of different groups to gain a knowledge of the walks available, including the first U3A walking group.
In October 2015 we formed our own U3A walking group. We wanted to create a friendly local group to explore some of the many great walks within half an hour of Jalon.
We meet each Monday to explore the Jalon Valley and surrounding area. The aim is easy walking on relatively good paths and tracks.
Most walks will start from Jalon, Alcalali, Parcent or Lliber. Each will start at 1000 and should last about three hours. This is not a hill walking group and we will try to avoid difficult terrain and scrambling.
The aim is to create a friendly group who meet regularly to enjoy the lovely surroundings we are fortunate to live in. When possible we will visit a local bar at the end of the walk for refreshments.
