WHY NOT SHARE IN IT?
U3A stands for the University of the Third Age. It is a self-help organisation for people no longer in full time employment. The word ‘university’ is used in the original sense of the word, ‘a community of people sharing knowledge’.
We were formed in September 2006 and now have around 1000 members. In Xalo as in other U3A groups, we draw upon the knowledge, experience and skills of our own members to organise and provide interest groups. We provide educational, creative and leisure opportunities in a friendly environment and are run entirely by volunteers.
The U3A is about learning for pleasure. There is no examination and no qualifications to be gained; just the enjoyment of experiencing learning and leisure opportunities with like-minded people.
We have monthly General Meetings on the first Thursday of each month. Please see our Home page for details of the next meeting.
