Linda Burns
Born in London, moved to Hertfordshire, and now living in Essex and Spain as often as possible.
I have two gorgeous granddaughters, who I love spending time with and of course their parents, my son and daughter in law.
I am currently the Secretary for the Residents Association where I am based in the UK and instigated our formal adoption last November 2023 at the AGM.
I have previously worked closely with communities, committees and enjoy working in collaboration with others.
I have previous knowledge and experience of building strong communities and managed a community centre for over a decade, for a local Charity. We started from scratch in 1993, when we were handed a building, and together we built a thriving centre for the local community which is still in operation today providing a pre-school and regular activities for the community.
I have had a varied career from retail, marketing, working in both education (Extended Schools Project Co-ordinator) and health (Childrens Centre Manager) providing varied services to the local community. I also returned to retail later in life owning a Gift shop in the local shopping centre!
I have more recently supported organisations as a Virtual Assistant (VA) with administration of social media, automation and some basic web site support and assistance. I am not a tech expert, but like the logic of how things work and like to bring my creative side to the table with content design. The Newsletter was an ideal opportunity to do just this and why I volunteered for this role with the U3A Vall Del Pop.
