On December 5th a coach-load of U3A VdP members set off on a very successful and enjoyable Christmas Shopping jolly to Murcia, where IKEA and the Nueva Condominia Centro Commercial were their targets. The weather was warm as a summer’s day in the UK making it so very pleasant to walk around in.
We managed seven walks during November, and had to cancel one due to heavy rain.
A plea from Parcent's deputy mayor to ALL EXPATS to ensure that they are registered on the padron of their local Town Hall and that they have also applied for voting rights.
The Word Buffs got together for an absolutely spiffing British Cream Tea at the Cappuccino Bar in Orba this week, where they meet every Thursday morning to play word games, or to review the Book of the Month.
On Thursday 11th October, 39 U3A members left Jalon on a trip to Ayora Honey Festival in the Valencia Region. We made a quick stop for coffee just outside Villena before proceeding to Virtudes Wine and Olive Oil Bodega, Villena.
David put together another excellent presentation. The photos of the ‘step’ pyramid are probably familiar to most people, but it is only a small part of the Sokar necropolis, much of which still lies buried in the sands, along with its mummies and other
treasures - all waiting to be discovered.
